Our Team

Gabe Bouch

Gabe grew up in a loving family and followed in his parents’ footsteps when he moved to Tallahassee and began attending Florida State University. The summer after his freshman year he was surprised to find his life changing dramatically after God began to answer his simple but honest prayers for help.

After graduating from Florida State with a degree in mathematics and physics, Gabe married his college sweetheart Jennifer, and together they began working as campus ministers at their alma mater. Nine years later, Gabe and his family moved to New Jersey where Gabe began pursuing a Ph.D. in mathematical physics at Rutgers University.

Gabe graduated in May 2011, and then took the logical (?!) next step and assumed the lead pastor role at Freedom Church. Gabe and Jennifer have six amazing children and love having a house full of music.

Jeremy Moore

Jeremy experienced a dramatic conversion to Christ during his senior year of high school. Through a faithful friendship and God’s pursuing love, he turned to Christ after seeing the emptiness of a life centered around a desperate longing for approval and acceptance. Jeremy studied Operations Research at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, and, after graduating, began working in New York. Shortly after, in late 2003, he took a job in Philadelphia so he could help start Freedom Church.

Jeremy loves the city of Philadelphia and the people who call this great city home. He counts it one of his greatest privileges to worship God with music and to lead the wonderful team of musicians God has assembled at Freedom Church (Freedom Movement). He has great expectations for the new expressions of creativity that God will bring out of this diverse people. Jeremy is husband to Elizabeth and proud father of two beautiful girls, Luciana and Farrah.

Micah Jones

Micah Jones is husband to Tiffany and proud father of Layla and Morgan. He serves as the Director of the School of Music at The University of the Arts in Center City. Originally from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Micah came to the Philadelphia area to study violin at Temple University. He decided that jazz is where his heart is, and switched his major to acoustic bass.

Micah received his Bachelor’s at Temple and his Master’s degree from the University of the Arts. Nine years ago Micah and his family came to Freedom Church in search of a new church home. When his, then two year-old, daughter announced “I like church,” the whole family knew they had found their place to serve.

Jun and Mabel Lee

Jun and Mabel Lee were married in 1992 and have three wonderful children, Sarah, Stephen, and Seth. They have been ministering to couples and helping build strong families since 1998.

Hailing from the Philippines, Jun graduated from De LaSalle University with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and ran his own business from 1995 until he entered vocational ministry in 2008. Mabel received her law degree from Ateneo Law School in 1989 and was a practicing lawyer and a court attorney for the Philippine Supreme Court until she decided to set her career aside in order to focus on raising their children.

Their daughter, Sarah, dances professionally with the Pennsylvania Ballet. Their oldest son, Stephen, is studying piano performance at the Oberlin Conservatory. Their youngest, Seth, is in middle school.

In addition to homeschooling Seth and supporting Jun with Children’s Ministry and Marriage and Family Ministry, Mabel assists Pastor Gabe with administrative matters, particularly in the area of finance.

Elisa Zinn

The youngest daughter of a South Jersey pastor, Elisa Zinn discovered a love for God at a young age. Serving in her father’s church provided a hands-on education in ministry work, and she continued that education at North Central University and Rhema Bible Training Center. She graduated in Missions and Bible Studies and immediately put her knowledge to godly use.

Elisa has lived in both Belgium and Italy, working as a missionary and serving young churches in their music and children’s ministries. She continued that work in the U.S., building and growing ministry teams for several fellowships, including what is now Freedom Church of Philadelphia. Elisa served on the planting team there and is an active member, mentor, and worship leader.

For all her kingdom-building gifts, Elisa’s passion is empowering women to embrace their identity in Christ. Standing on the promise of Luke 1:45, she believes God has purposeful plans for his daughters and labors in love to help them come to life. Elisa is happily married to Paul Zinn and the proud mother of two sons and a daughter.

Dave Hess

While studying at Florida State University, Dave came into contact with a campus ministry where he heard the good news about Jesus Christ, and saw young men and women devoted to Christ. Dave responded to God’s grace and experienced significant personal growth.

In 2003, Dave felt the call to serve in vocational ministry. After attending the Every Nation School of Campus Ministry he devoted himself to reaching out to students on university campuses and developing the next generation of students for leadership. He also continued his theological education and in 2015 completed a Master’s Degree at Reformed Theological Seminary.

Dave moved to Philadelphia in February of 2015 with his wife, Katie, and two children to partner with Freedom Church in reaching students with Every Nation Campus. He loves being a part of the transforming work of the Gospel in the lives of young men and women and is excited by the tremendous possibilities that exist on the university campuses of Philadelphia.

Bill Bernhard

Bill is a native of Philadelphia and was born into a Christian family. It was in college where he came to know Christ personally and follow Him. He studied mechanical engineering at Drexel University and after graduating answered God’s call to go into ministry. Bill also graduated from the Every Nation School of World Missions in the Philippines and brings his heart for the nations to the university campuses of Philadelphia.

Alex Smith

Alex grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia. Although he had some exposure to the message of Jesus Christ as a youth, he did not understand what it meant to follow Jesus nor did he have anyone to mentor him. Consequently, he strayed. At the age of twenty-one he finally learned the importance of developing a relationship with Jesus Christ. As a result of this life experience, Alex has an incredible passion for sharing God’s love and helping kids come to know Jesus and walk with Him.

Alex is happily married to his high school sweetheart, Lauren, and a proud father to their two little girls. They have been a part of Freedom Church since 2013 and look forward to what God has in store for the city of Philadelphia.
